About Gavin

I’m Gavin Lottering — a designer by instinct, a communicator by trade, and a lifelong learner with a growing obsession for organic chemistry.

I was raised by artist parents, and my early love of science never fully left me. I studied philosophy in university — ethics, logic, epistemology — which taught me how to think clearly and ask better questions. That foundation eventually led me into 3D animation, then programming, and later into a 15+ year career in public sector communications, where I focused on clarity, empathy, and making complex ideas usable.

GLC (Gavin Lottering Creations) has taken many forms — from digital art experiments to AI-powered tools, and most recently, a deep dive into green chemistry, biomaterials, and sustainable design. What ties it all together? Curiosity. A desire to understand how things work — and how they could work better.

I’m not a scientist. But I do spend a lot of time reading like one, asking questions like one, and building tools that help me learn faster. My work with AI — including custom GPTs — has been a catalyst for learning and insight. And this blog is where it all lands: thoughts in progress, notes from the field, and ideas I hope are worth exploring.

This isn’t a portfolio or a product pitch. It’s just a place to think out loud, chase ideas, and maybe spark something new.

Thanks for being here.
